This Privacy Policy explains what information Helm Advisory ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you visit helm-advisory.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what we need to run the site and respond to you.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you complete our contact form, we collect your name, company, email address, how you found us, and the message you send. If you ask us to email you the results of one of our scorecards, we collect your email address and your score for that purpose. When you book a call, our scheduling provider collects the details you submit to confirm the meeting.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and how you move through the site. We use this to understand traffic and improve the experience.
Cookies and your choices
Essential cookies needed to run the site are always on. We do not load any analytics or measurement cookies until you accept them. On your first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Reject non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a choice to reject and do not load analytics.
If you accept, we use the following services:
- Google Analytics 4 measures site traffic and which pages and actions are most useful. It sets cookies and processes usage data. We run it with Google Consent Mode, so it stores cookies only after you accept.
- Microsoft Clarity helps us see how pages are used through aggregated metrics and session replay of on-page interactions such as clicks and scrolling. We use it to find usability problems, not to identify you, and it loads only after you accept.
Two services load only when needed for a feature you ask for:
- Calendly powers our "Book a call" scheduling and loads only when you choose to book. Details you enter to schedule are handled by Calendly under its own privacy policy.
- Netlify hosts the site and processes our form submissions and standard server logs.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule conversations.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To understand which content and services are useful to visitors.
- To meet legal and record-keeping obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with the service providers described above that help us run the site and respond to you, and only as needed for those purposes. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Data retention
We keep contact submissions for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business records, and analytics data according to the providers' standard retention settings. You can ask us to delete information you have sent us.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or limit the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To make a request, email info@helm-advisory.com and we will respond consistent with applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
US state privacy rights, including California. If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you may request access to or deletion of your personal information and may opt out of any sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out.
EU and UK (GDPR). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above.
